Review of Safer Outside by Kristina Renee

1

When Liz moves to a new high school, she hopes for a fresh start. School is her escape from the violence at home and her only hope at breaking the cycle of poverty she was born into. Trying to shield her siblings from her stepfather's fury gets harder each day so when she meets Logan, she thinks it will be a harmless distraction from the fear.

She's Wrong.

Logan has the resources to change her life but at what cost? Her relationship is the best thing that ever happened to her but it could also be the worst. If she's not careful, she may lose everyone that's important to her. But it's hard to be careful when you're fifteen and in love.

MY REVIEW

4 Stars

I really enjoyed reading this book and I couldn't put it down once I started reading. I was disappointed when I finished reading it because it could have been longer or there should be a sneak peek in their future. It was a happy ending but it's the type even though it's the end it felt lacking.

Elizabeth "Liz" moved back to her old middle school and started a new. New name minus the extra body weight. She not only tries to live her new image but she also tries to escape the problems home. She then captured the attention of Logan, a senior student. As they start to have relationship Liz has trouble deciding whether to be with Logan or not due to the baggage she carries.

Safer outside was just written right but probably except for the ending but that's just for me.

Liz may still be insecure about herself but she grew stronger as the story goes on. Despite being with Logan she still thinks of her family and will do anything for them to keep them safe. She is far stronger than her mother ( I hated her throughout the whole story but liked her a little bit at the end). In the end, it was up to her to save her family.

Logan was really sweet. I had trepidations about them being together at first but Logan won me, I mean Liz. He is also very romantic. The things he did for her for showing his feelings for her were just so so... I'm glad that he turned out to be a great guy.

Liz mother was well, let's just say she had her wake up call and it took an incident to happen to Liz for her to realize that she was really in the wrong.

But overall, it was great read. It's pretty realistic although the feelings of Logan and Liz for each other were probably too fast.

I can't wait to read the rest of this series once it's out.

  1. Hi Faye! This is another book that sounds pretty good! Since this is going to be a series, is this book the end of Logan and Liz's story or will there be more in book 2? Wasn't sure if book 2 is going to feature a brand new couple.

    Anyway, great review!
